yes it's old news but it's not that old...however when I used them on my radeon 8500 I got horrible fps...and my 3d mark score was around 51xx...a far away from the usual 67xx...

Eeee! You need to do some work on your system, because I've gotten between 7800 and 8100 on 3dmark with nothing overclocked since I got my 8500 and my system is slower than yours. This is the defualt benchmark with everything set high and aa and aniso off(I think I still get over 7000 with aniso.)
Yeah Pointless, that score is pretty low for that powerful a rig. I get around 6K flat with my 1ghz p3. You should be getting a lot more than a 700 point advantage over my rig.
