Please make my nVidiA stop sucking!!!

My geforece 4200 6mb has never worked properly i usedd to think it was other parts of my computer, but a reformat DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. the minute i swaped my ati for the nvidia in my machine it goes haywire in games.in most all of my games theres some flicker and BAM, everythings miscolored on my screen and there are these like planes of color cutting through my vision forcing a restart.sometimes afteer like 5 mintutes, colored static just takes over the screen and reboots my cmoputer. ive posted here about this problem before, but no one ever gave me a solution., updating the drivers for the card and the mobo itself did not yield a solution.

recently my brother was on my computer and didnt know what to do and the computer restarted with teh colored static (which goes to show this is a video card problem, not an OS, as it gives me colored static even when displaying hte bios). ANYWAY, after it boots into XP, the colors are all ****ed up and it wouuld not get out of 4 bit color mode. now xp doesnt like anythign less than 16 and kept flashing all these warnings at me. most windows fuctions wouldnt display properly in 4 bit color so navigating through all that crap was difficult as ihad to rely on memory as no other computer in the house runs xp. basically, despite a driver roll back, despite trying to fix it in safe mode, i had to reformat. i dunno how or why, but the problem gets REALLY bad towards the end of games. So far, in NOLF2 and RENEGADE, both give me the system killing color static about 30 seconds into playing. please help. any suggsetions or ideas are appreciated

GF4 ti's require AGP 2.0

Does the board support 4x AGP?

The VIA apollo 133 does not support AGP 2.0
The VIA aplollo Pro does.

that could quite possibly be my problem. about a week ago i realized that my card was running 2x. in my bios, for some reason there were two controls to set agp x rating, and one was at 2x and one was at 4x. putting both at 4x did not solve my problem. fast writes are off, and agp appeture or whatever is set to 128 mb. ill try to find out more about the motherboard and what not, but in the mean time, can you help me out anymore?

btw, being from australia and all, do you make fun of the way americans talk as much as we make fun of the way you talk? i always wondered about that.

Well, being from Australia myself I have to ask how many Australians you have actually met? TV is not a valid way of determining what someone's accent is really like or, more importantly, what someones country is like. Let me just say that the "Crocodile hunter" is NOT how Australians talk - it's a show put on for the American audience - neither is Paul Hogan realistic.
If TV were how countries really are then the US is full of Miami Vice, Al Bundy, Seinfield sort of people etc - you get the point.

And yes, my business partner is from Chicago and I have been to the US so I have experianced it first hand. Most people in Detroit thought I was British (better than the French I guess )

Funny thing was that after 2 weeks in the States I came back and was asked if I was Canadian? Must have picked up a bit of a wierd accent!

ive met maybe 6 austiralians in my life so far, and yes they actually do talk differently. maybe not paul hogan differently, but they have the same accent the fosters commerical guy does. and yes, i have been in formed by the aussies ive met that fosters is one of the grossest beers in aussie land.

Yep, Fosters is just puke!
As for Steve Irwin and Paul Hogan, you'd be amazed how many people think it's "typical" Australian.

Then again, before I came over to visit I had people say to me "don't go out at night, you'll get shot" and "watch out, everyone has guns!". I just laughed at them, I mean come on. Yes, ignorance is just as prolific in Australia as any other country.

I can honestly say the only thing that freaked me out was driving on the right. We took the first turn and I almost crapped myself. Everything was telling my brain we were going to crash!
That's what happens when you drive on the Left all your life.

Oh, and yes, we take the piss out of your accent as much as you do to us!!!
