    fan fail question

I have the GA-8IHXP mb and the chipset fan is failing, my questions should I get a replacment or leave it as is just heatsink with no fan ect. I would wrather not rma the whole board how necessary is the northbridge fan ... i havent had any lockups ,but the fan is clicking and slowing rapidly... the board has been stable as can be this is the 1st issue ive seen with it
    thanks in advance

I dont know how the chipset fan mounts. If it is just 4 screws like other fans, just replace it. If its not easy to remove and replace, just leave it it should be fine..

What you can do to lower temps a bit is have an intake and an exhuast case fan, both 80mm or higher.
