Yea with Crucial you shuld be able to hit at least 166 I would think. The more VDIMM you pump in the higher she will go. Also depending on what your temps are you should be alright at 2.85 VDIMM. You might damage it, but its the same with all OC'ing. There is always a chance of damaging a product if it is being run out of spec. However, from the cases I have seen people can put 2.85volts through it and run fine for an extended amount of time. It is good quality RAM, so I think you should be alright

Just in case you guys didn't see my thread in techinical support, i did some research and found that the errors I am getting are most likely a software/driver issue rather than memory running out of spec. I did a "sysprep" instead of install the os fresh and all of the people reporting this error solved it by reinstalling the OS or eliminating the driver causing the problem. I have a feeling since I can boot up fine at 166fsb, that the ram can handle that speed.

Ive seen some of the older crucial chips run in the 180-190 fsb range. My systems ram will boot on past 175 with no extra voltage sense i can only get my processor to 175 that may be my rams limit or it could be my processor or even my boards. Also correct me if im wrong but isnt the highest 1600+ overclock on this site using crucail ddr pc2100. Another thing ive noticed is whne more cooling is placed aroudn the ram ie a side fan or a top blow whole the crucial benifits alot. Overall i think i have alittle bit of a bias towards crucial becuase of how awsome this ram i have now has been right from the start. I got frre shiping and only 39 doolars a stick and ive seen this stuff do 182fsb in a friends system that was using pc2700 that could barely make 175. Overall it is great stuff but if you think you are likely to go above 170 then i would recomend some real overclocking ram like some corsair or micron.

I'm running 3 256 sticks of crucial and I keep the fsb at 150 with turbo settings. I havn't tried to go past 150 yet, but maybe tonight I'll give it a try.

Well I got both of my sticks for 32 bucks. I think I have some of the earliest PC2100 sticks from crucial so mine are probably just crappy. I read the reviews over at newegg and as you go on earlier into 2002, you will see not as many people reporting such high fsb. A lot of them are in the 150 range. I did find out that with 1 of my sticks I can at least boot up into windows at 166 while with only the other in, my PC just reboots.
So all in all, it depends on WHEN you bought your crucial PC2100 ram .
