We were expecting 2.2-2.3Ghz because it's a t-bred B. Some t-bred A's can make 2Ghz on AC so there is really no difference between the two chips if the B can't go way past 2Ghz.

Did you expected that with a 50 $ value CPU to beat the P4 3.06 ? ,..how ever this thing with a 8rda+ will beat the P 4 2.7 with a PE cipset .
Sorry, didn't mean to say it wasn't a great o/c'er... meant to say it doesn't appear to be tons better than the "A" core. I don't raise my vcore at all anyway :-P. Mine is stable at default voltage 11.5x147=1690. The "B" core seems to o/c ~7% better... which is significant... but not groundbreaking or anything.

In think we are not seeing what rev b will do yet becuase the link posted erlier with a 2100+ is a completely different stepping heck its even the brown color and not the green. Also i think that maybe the 1700+s steeping sucks right now while the 2100+ maybe nearer a new 2400+. But hen agian they might just be at there limits now and we have all gooten hyped over nothing. Oh well i think ill take 600mhz anyday. Just wish i was one of those few people with a prometia system. Makes me think about getting a job. lol

Well , this is my main concern also , i will never use a CPU @ 1.9 V or 1.8 .
I allways put 1 volt more , that's all . My wife dont like noise so i allways use a 5000 rpm fan but if i can find one of those who will do 11.5x166 @ 1.6v , well this is ok with me

damnin damnit damnit. Just when i go and buy my 2400. Although i am not mad B/C I did hit 2.3GHZ and 185FSB
**Edit and that was with a crappy AUICB 239 stepping.

what stepping are we looking for in a t-bred B? I haven't kept up on that.

For 50 bucks this seems like a no brainer, but would I see that much of an increase? I'm running 1600+(9X200) on a 8rda+. Guess that I could get 200 more mhz easily. I wonder if they will tell me what core the cpu is if I call them to make an order. Anyone talked to the newegg people before? TIA

This guy hawe the XP 1700 Tbred B @ 2200 mhz with 1.85V

I went on the 'Xtreme' forum, saw a lot of stuff. I just went ahead
and ordered the 1700+ from newegg. Go from there!!!

huh...
Am I reading this right?
I can overlclock from 1.47GHz to at least 2 ghz with a very nice air cooler? and have it be stable?
If thats the case i'll change my order to that one instead of the 2400+
EDIT:
Upon further investigation it looks it requires watercooling.. hmm.. *looks into it*

Crono, I get my 1600+ to 1.89G STABLE with aircooling (TT V7+ at MID-
speed). I kinda wonder the reasoning behing my getting a 1700+ 'B',
cuz the gains I'll see can't be THAT big.....it's fun, though......
Seems getting to the high 1.8's/low 1.9's is relatively easy/lucky -
getting to the HIGH 1.9's is a nice badge. (I can get over 2 in the
dead of winter when it gets under 25 deg F outside in my basement PC
room. Sweater required!! But the 2G ain't exactly stable....

Hafta be careful w/ those Rev. 'B's and take a look at the stepping code before you drop your cash hoping to get a kick @$$ T-Bred. I've been reading that the stepping codes on the rev. 'B's that begin w/ a 'J' instead of an 'A' are much poorer performing T-breds. Not something to worry about ~2200 or above but the olders xp's (~1700) are often using the inferior revision.
