Best gaming headset?
Hiya folks. I am currently in the market for a computer headset for use with TeamSpeak. Right now the Plantronics Audio 90 is at the top of my list, but I already have a pair of Sennheiser HD497s that I'd like to use for gaming. Would it be worth it to get a headset over just buying a $12 computer mic?
Basically, I'm wondering if the convenience and microphone quality of the headset mic would justify the differences in price and sound positioning/quality. If you think so, which headset would you recommend? My price range is $30-$40, so please try to keep it either under or within that. Thanks for any help

I use the audio 90s. It is one bad *** headset at a great price. I got mine at Circuit City for like $25. I have tried others but the audio 90s have benn the best for me so far. I know of 5 or 6 other people that use them and love them.

The thing is... are those people using HD497's through an Audigy 2?
His reference system is pretty hi fi... it's far from what you or your friends most likely are used to... yes the 497's are THAT much better than any other headphones you can find in best buy or circuit city or compusa (barring an HD580, as long as you use it with a good reciever, or an HD590...).

You could mod your HD 497's to be a headset. Buy a separate mic and mod it to attach to your senn's. shouldn't be all that hard.
