Abit BE6-II Rev 1.0 , win XP boot delay problems
Hi , i hawe a Abit BE6_II Rev 1.0 motherboard in my wife setup and i just installed win XP Pro, installation went out very smooth , i put drive in the DMA 33 chanell nr 1 and i disabled the 2 Hot Rod 66 in bios .
The XP work fine , no prob so far but when the os boot i hawe a 25 second break after the bios post , this is just before the black screen with 'Starting XP Professional' will apear .
In those 25 sec. the Hdd does not work and the screen is completely black.
Sould i install the UDMA 66 driver even if the 2 controllers are disabled ? ,...why do i hawe this break ?
I hawe a AW580 Soundcard and USB Modem Cable for internet , the HDD is 7200 rpm Quantum and is inserted in UDMA 33 chanell nr 1.
Thx for help .

My suspicions are that the disabled 66 ports have something to do with it. I would renable them and if that removes the delay, go ahead and keep them enabled even if Windows does not have drivers for them and you don't plan on using them.
