Viewing a PPS file without PowerPoint??

This may be a stupid question but is there a way to view a powerpoint file without actually having Power Point? I was just wondering if there was a downloadable program or some other program like Word that would allow me to view this file.

Microsoft used to have a free powerpoint file viewer- not sure if they still do it- check microsoft.com /downloads.

You can also open it with openoffice, which is a really nice replacement to MS's office...
