Even the cheapest HD will boost your performance quite a bit on that box, although I doubt you'll see much difference in games except for loading times.

Of course with a new HD you'll be able to INSTALL a couple of games. lol..

plus you're not going to get a lot more FPS out of that box - the 8500 is probably the highest that's worth going before you need to start getting a faster bus/cpu.

    have fun!

Yep, hard drive for sure. No point in having a great Vid Card if the games you play can't even get loaded due to lack of space.

    Cheers,

Get a hard drive and a GeForce4 MX for $40 from pricewatch.com if you have the spare change. a Ti4200 might be too much for that system anyways.

    Wait a minute!

I've just looked at the specs of his 'main PC' - and he's using that craptastic Intel 810E chipset, which doesn't support AGP at all (other than the integrated video)! In this case, the R8500 series and the GF4 Ti series are both out of the running, as neither comes in a PCI version. And at retail stores that I've looked at, there is no PCI graphics card faster than a GF4 MX 420 SDR, which isn't much of an improvement over his current GF2 MX 400 anyway.
    MY CURRENT RIGS:

    Guest Rig: Intel P4/2.8C, Intel D865PERL, 2GB PC3200, GeForce 6800GT AGP, WD1200JB, Sony 810A DVD burner
