Which PSU... Silencer 400 or Quiet PC 400???

I want the d@mn quietest PSU that there is. No questions asked... I want the most silent PSU on the planet.

These are the two I've got right now as front runners. PC Power & Cooling's Silencer 400, and Quiet PC's Ultra-Quiet 400W. Anyone who has used both (or either), let me know if they really are silent. If anyone knows of a quieter PSU, then speak now.

I heard good things aout the QUietPC PSU, and that it maintains very good 5 and 12v rails.

    Cool

I think the quietest PSU may be the Nexus NX 3000 at 22dbA, you can see it at http://www.siliconacoustics.com/sili...xusnx3000.html

There is also a PSU claimed to be only 14dbA, but I've never actually heard this one... it can be seen at http://www.exoticpc.com/merchant2/me...ry_Code=SILENT

dang man... thanks for the heads-up.

now... the only problem is. Should I go with the Nexus (which I actually "heard" in a video review) or should I risk it and try the SilenX, which says that it's 14dbA?

Has anyone happened to try those PSU's from ExoticPC?

Thanks man. It looks like the Nexus PSU's have a lot of good reviews. Now I just gotta figure out if the Exotic PC PSU's really do operate at 14dbA. There's a big difference between 14dbA's and 22dbA (Nexus).

You're going to hear your HD more than your power supply

I suggest one of those Enermax PSU's with adjustable fans. I have a 433W model and it rocks!

If you really want the most quiet PS then get yourself a decent water cooling setup, buy a quality 350watt PS (antec, enermax, ect), open it up, pull out the fans and use some thermal adhesive to attach a water block to the PS heatsink.
