    Question Format and partitioning ??

    How do i format and partition a new hdd??

    Depends,
    What Os you gonna run on it? Or what are you going to use the drive for.

    And... what type of drive is it? because most drives come with a partitioning Utility. For any type of partitioning though, I would recommend Partition Magic. It Rox0rs

    partition it first, then format the drives you created while partitioning.

    If you are running windows XP there is basic partitioning software built in. You need to go to the Administrator Tools folder, and then to Computer Management.

    Then select disk management from the expandable list of options in the left pane of the window. You should see all disks and their existing partitions. From here you can perform basic partitioning tasks as well as format drives, however mroe advanced paritioning taks such as resizing and merging existing partitions are not available.
