    Something to ponder (C&C Generals)

    From the readme:

    Recommended system specifications:

    • CPU: 1.8 GHz or faster Intel Pentium IV or AMD Athlon processor

    That's for a strategy game.

And now to compare I'll quote the readme of a recent FPS (Unreal II):

    1.2 Recommended System Requirements
    -----------------------------------

    Operating System: Windows 98/Me/2000/XP

Processor: Pentium III or AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz (or higher)
    A64 3700+ (San Diego)
    ABIT KN8 SLI
    2x512MB PC 3200 DDR
    BFG GTS 250 1 GB
    SB Audigy
250gig Maxtor Maxline Plus II SATA HD
    Viewsonic VA1912wb

Maybe the AI in generals is a real cpu hog. The AI in unreal 2 was roughly equivalent to a retarded chimp so that might be the reason C&C's is so much higher. Don't think the minimum system requirments mean much though...

Apparently in Unreal II the AI can be rather good IF you play on the hard level...
