    media laptop

My purpose is to get a comp or a laptop to do some video editiing.

I need to copy stuff from the TV onto my comp.
I need a fast editing comp/laptop and lots and lots of space.

My choices are to either get a tablet pc or laptop and get hte dazzle for video recording and some external hd's.

Or the multimedia machine from Alienware that cannot be portable.
like the navigator extreme or something.

the navigator extreme is my best choice, i'm sure, but i need osme portability, if possible.
    SO.. what should i get?
    thx

Amd world-Checkout the Sager line (SAME as Alienware)@ powernotebooks.com. I use one of the 8887 models for video editing. Works just fine-I havent run out off space either. Network your self to to a tower that has some 120 or 200 gig drives and you'll be all set. (Actually if you could make a TI-VO recorder work for you that would be better-80 hours)
The Sagers are mobile desktops. They use the parts and electronics from desktops -none from the mobile computing industry. I take mine to work every day and at 10lbs its just not a big deal. Firewire and analog inputs on the back. If I'm recording something off the tv I dump it to my Cannon Optura 200 in mini dv format after editing. Brems

toshiba 5200 already has all that, yes you still have to buy the dazzle bridge but you have good hard drive which is expandable beecuase it comes with a free bay, its equipped with DVD-RW, 64Mb geforce go and p4 2.0, all in all a kick *** product and to back it up its Toshiba, and its coming from someone who sells noteboooks.
