    Laptop OC

I just bought a Alienware Area-51m (in fact i'm still waiting for it), and I'm day dreaming about the overclocking possibilities. I know its kinda dangerous to oc a laptop, but i also know that they use the same cooling rig for the 3.06 ghz as they do for the 2.4 (which is what i will have). the processor should be fine, i'm just wondering about the rest of it. Has anyone done this before?

I know there are a few out there that love to OC anything they can, including laptops. I will be the first to put out a word of caution: dont do it. Esp. if you are getting a 2.4.....really no reason to do it.

You can bump the speed of the video with Powerstrip, but that's about it. I believe if you choose the optimization feature that's what they do. There's a lot of guys bumping their video clock speed on sagerforums.com in the 5660 systems and getting close to 8K in the 3Dmark 2K1 SE (same as Alienware Area 51-M). Of course, it really doesn't help your frames much in gaing I've noticed.
