    Music Sleeping Gadget Thingee, help!

I need this gadet, can anyone help?

I hate going to sleep and I hate waking up, so i think music will help.

My computer is too loud to have on while sleeping, I set it up to turn on to play music but then just the sound of it turning on wakes me up

When I want to goto sleep and go in my bed and I turn it on, it plays music, and every 2 mins the sound lowers a notch.

It has a timer so at like 6am it turns on at the lowest setting and increaes every 2 minutes until im awake at 7am and im happy.

I would prefer something compact, my computer is my perfect stereo when Im awake, sleeping is all I need it for.

Something with speakers, not headphones, (trying to sleep)

    It plays cds or mp3s

I was wondering if anyone knew any gadgets that do this.

I guess if I can't find one, I'll build a silent computer with some program that can do this.

    thanks,
    jason

Hmm, perhaps a cd/clock radio from your local wal-mart or target? Hehe, almost all of the cd-clock-radios out there have a "snooze" setting on them you can turn on so that they will turn on at certain times and go off at certain times... look into those..

Nakamichi makes a high-end 3-piece clock radio that has a wake-up function similar to what you describe. I don't know if it's "slow wake-up" feature can be set to take an hour though.
    It's about $600

If anyones interested, i just discovered XP Plus Digital Media Edition allows you to do all of that in Windows Media Player, along with some other very, very strange features.

Well, if you use the program Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock (freeware) you can create just about any timed event you ilke, and using the commandline volume controller (cvc.exe) which you may need to find and download (i got mine off an asian site) you can control windows volume.

I have my computer set to play a winamp playlist as i go to sleep, and then in the morning, it cranks the volume (with 400 wat speakers) and blasts me out of bed with some rather heavy music. It works well for me, and it's fun to play with it.
