That score does seem very low. Maybe it's your V4?
Myself I have a celeron 896 and an Mx and I'm getting just over 4700 in 3DMark2000. I made the move from DX7 to DX8 and didn't really notice an increase or decrease in my score. Once you get your Mx I'd expect you to be well over 5000. Your Tbird850 blows away my Celeron 896 and your score should affirm that.

Coool screw the damn v4 i only got because i didnt have the agp port before now im gonna be so happy and by the way im geting cable modem tomorow i think im the luckiest person on the planet
