    Why does DX9 lock up counterstrike?

    After I installed direct x9 counterstrike won't run. My brother had the exact same problem.

    hmm thats strange Ive run regular cs and the steam 1.6 beta just fine,with dx9 on my system.

    well, i got it working. I restarted it in d3d instead of ogl but it ran VERY choppy. I then switched it back to ogl and rebooted and now it works fine. Kind of wierd.

    Good to hear it. Can't live without a bit of CS! Generally, I find any game with an OpenGL option runs faster and more reliable than Direct3D. I think there is even a tweak to run UT2003 in OpenGL mode but I haven't had time to try it yet.

    It won't run because CS is old, outdated graphics, full of cheaters and all around crappy
