That's a damn good price. It's a great heatsink, but I just don't like the fact that it is so heavy. But the availability of using a 92mm fan makes it well worth it though.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am personally saving for watercooling (maybe) and if not, I can live with my proc @ 45C.

Great HSF yes, but when I just looked at your link, the price was $54.99!

Yeah, they musta upped the price. Its 55 bucks now. I'm curious how it actually mounts. Does it use those little gold screw thingings you use on your mobo to mount to the case? And, is it really too heavy to mount? I mean, would they really make one that could snap off?

It mounts in a similair way to the other big ones... This diagram actually looks more sturdy than my alpha 8045's setup to me because of that bottom plate. I just reseated my processor and the alpha was no joke to get off... I don't believe either heatsinks could ever spontaneously break off... either the screws would have to strip out completely or the mobo would have to crack. And anyone who has put in some 'hard to get in' cards/memory knows how durable mobo's can be.

Thanks for the doc. That settles that, you have to take out your mobo to put it in as there is a backplate for the other side. I'm not taking my junk apart to put that thing on, no matter how cool it is. Maybe if I ever upgrade my mobo or something, but that's a ways down the road I think.

wonder how it compares with 800..probably just the support for a bigger fan size is all.
