HDD 8mb cache VS 2mb cache

I'm looking at getting a new HDD. YAY.
But I see there is a choice between the Western digitals with 8mb of cache and the maxtors with only 2mb of cache. Which is better??

The 8Mb cache is much better...

you can get maxtor drives with 8Mb cache though.

Its up to which brand you go for... WD are slightly quicker, Maxtor are slightly quieter... Reliability are on par with each other.

    Thanks for the info man.
Yeah, I thought it was odd seeing only the WD 8mb cache models listed. guess the Maxtor's are being saved for later here.

The price difference between the 8 and the 2 is very marginal-go for the 8!
