Abit OTES Ti4200
How loud is it?? Am thinking of buying one soon.
It's down to $125 at Newegg which is pretty good considering it's already clocked at Ti4400 speeds. In most of the benchies I've seen the 64MB Ti4200's are faster than the 128MB versions. I only use 2 PCI slots - sound card and NIC, so losing one isn't a big deal for me.

i found a review that actually had mp3s of the OTES and a ti500 i think. it was much louder, but with the case fans i have i wouldn't hear it at all. and when i'm on the comp i'm either playing mp3s or CS, so i wouldn't care.

the OTES is one of the worse overclockers according to toms i think. while it comes OCed already, it cant reach as high speeds as some of the other 4200s.

the best 4200 is the albatron ti4200 turbo. i hit 301/702 and it would run 3dmark 2001 one time. at 301/675 it ran games completely stable.
here is a link to the video card at newegg for 190$

If were going to spend that much I'd get a 9500 pro instead.
I'd rather spend <$130, although the MSI Ti4200-TD8X64 (8894-080) is work the extra $$$ at $147 with all the games it includes.

If you can wait for 1-2 months the R350 is likely to roll out...then the 9500 cards will get dirt cheap. That's my plan. Wait for the R350 and get a 9700 non-pro as they should be way less than $200 at that point.

CPU Magazine (Feb. '03) reviewed the OTES and OC'ed theirs to a stable 310. They didn't say anything about OC'ing the memory on it, so I can't comment about that. But 310 beats 301.
