The sharpness is unbeatable. It will be a long long time before they make an LCD the same size or thinner than current LCD's. It's just the nature of the physics involved.
I usually recommend crt's though to friends for gaming. Most things are geared towards them which makes things a bit easier.
If you use the DVI out on the video card with an lcd monitor you do not have to adjust phasing, etc.
What monitor did you have before the lcds. Because if you had the one I thought you had in your sig there is no way in hell you could have thought that any LCD within reason would look better than the one(crt) you used to have RIGHT hmmmm
To the poster a crt is going to give you a much better image and if you game there is no comparison. There are some nice lcds out there but for the price crts are in a different league. If space is a issue by all means get a lcd...If not your eyes will love you for spending the money on a nice big fat crt

Flat Screen CRTs are way more comfortable for your eyes than curved screen variants !
I concur. My Viewsonic G90fb looks absolutely great. I can't ever see glares (except maybe with black screens) and it just looks nice overall. I have to say I'm spoiled. Whenever I look at a normal, curved CRT monitor, I sort of get a headache/eyeache.

Thanks butcher for saving five mins of my time, i didnt want to jump into this discussion when i read first three posts (LCDs are sharper people were saying, what the heck!)
anyways if you are a gamer yes CRT is they way to go, i try almost every single LCD every day for hrs, i work for best buy, and even in games like NOLF2 which is not the highest paced you can still see ghosting and pixelation..
But if you dont game at all and just surf and type documents, ya lcds are good, save space etc ..
hope this helps!

Not sure who you heard that from, because IMHO flat panel monitors are way better than curved ones. I'm on a flat panel one now, a bad flat panel one at that, and when I use the family computer (which has a curved monitor) I can't stand it. It's hard to read text because it seems curved and stretced. I would definently go with a flat panel CRT monitor.
BTW, I am also looking for a 19-21" CRT monitor in the same price range as you, and here is one that I am seriously considering:

Hey Thank you for the link. I just orderd the Sony monitor. Wow, free shipping is what I like. Read the reviews from people who bought it and all were positive! I'm upgrading from a crappy 17inch(16in. viewable) Micronpc monitor.
Buy it man.
