Please help!
OK, so I got 2 512mb sticks of Crucial PC-2700 in the mail today, so I go to put them in. I removed the old (2x256mb pc2100) I booted up, and all I got was a long beep, then a pause, long beep, pause. Over and over again. So i tried to go back to my old memory, same thing. I reseated the memory and video card about 5 times now. Any suggestions?

One long beep usually indicates a problem with the mobo, PSU or keyboard.

With the new memory installed, try clearing the CMOS and rebooting.

The KG7 is known to have problems with ram and it also uses the AMD761 chipset which as far as i know uses a 266mhz FSB so you wont really be getting any advantages from running pc2700 in it, do what blt said and see if you can get it working with the old ram again, then get a bios update and try the new ram 1 stick at a time...

I had the same problem with that particular motherboard and Crucial ram. I just had to keep reseating the ram until it was happy. I'd say just keep trying and it will eventually be happy. Push down a bit harder than before but not too much!

Make sure that when you seat the ram, you push until the clips close themselves. If you close the clips yourself, and then force it down (like i usually do) the mobo wont recognize it most of the time.
