    What OS?

    Hey all,

I just got my hands on my OLD computer and don't have a clue what to do with it. It's a Pentium 200Mhz w/ 96MB or ram and about 4gb of hard drive space (soon to be 6gb when i add an even older hard drive to it So, the question of the day is, what OS do you think i should put on it? I currently have a desktop and laptop both running XP Pro, and since that is probably out of the question i was thinking of a linux box. So, any recommendations on what distro would be the best. Mind you i'm a complete newbie when it comes to linux, so ease of use and ease of set up would be my deciding factors. Plus, connectivity is important but not paramount. Thanks,

That machine would handle Linux easily. I'd suggest RedHat 8.

Redhat 8 it is. I've already got a P4 2ghz desktop and a 1.6ghz laptop running windows so i thought this would be a good place to try and learn linux. Thanks for the input.

lol, my imagination will be alright, i'm worried about going bald from pulling all my hair out.

And what's the difference between linux and FreeBSD or is FreeBSD just a distro of linux?
