    Sound Card for $50-$70

    Hi guys!

Ok, my friend just got a new computer, but it came with intergrated sound! AAAAAH! Normally, he wouldn't mind, but he has this killer speaker set that came with the comp. I mean these are NICE speakers. It would seem to be a waste if the sound card quality were not able to make the speakers shine in all their 5.1 goodness. Hmm...I'm pretty sure that intergrated card doesn't have Dolby 5.1 support...

Anyways, he needs a card that's in the $50-$70 RETAIL range. He doesn't trust online anymore since he got ripped off last time from eBay (figures).

    Thanks for your help!

well, if you're gaming, grab a fortissimo 7.1
for music, you can't beat the price of a TBSC.

to further qualify what big mac stated...Compusa is having a special sale on the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz its only $50

A few others to look at are...Fortissmo III (might be right on the upper limit cusp for brich and mortar retail), Muse 5.1 DVD, im sure if you hunt you can find an Audigy for around $60 or a Live for $50.

Perhaps a philips Sesmic Edge, if his speakers are digital...or only 4.1.

I dont know where you live, but generally for stuff like Sounds Cards your best place to shop is in Mom and Pop computer stores. They generally will undersell MSRP by a couple bucks.
