CPU out of M/B spec. Dangerous?

This is probably a stupid question, but I just wanted to mess around and see if my cheesey Tyan Trinity 400 M/B (support up to 1GH) can run a 1.8 GH Celeron. Will the PC just not boot or do you think it will throttle the CPU speed down to it's liking? Or will something get fried? Just curious. Any ideas? Thanks folks.

    This should be interesting!

Your motherboard is a socket 370 so the Celeron 1.8Ghz will not fit physically.
