    Not suggesting that you did...

But if you *cough* downloaded the game as opposed to buying it... then it's not surprising at all that there are errors in it. Often cracked versions of software are defective.

If it is a ligit copy though... could be a drivers issue. Some games have problems with certain video cards. I wouldn't think that would be the issue in this case however judging that the game and card are both very well supported. Look online and see if you can find any patches or updates to the game.

it's a driver issue, you need a certain windows patch. it's in the readme file for the game.

I had the exact same problem and it was easy to fix. I found a link either in the readme.txt or on the website that I went to and it downloaded a patch and that fixed the problem. Let me know if this helps.

*** BELOW IS MY OPINION, IGNORE IT ***
Don't mean to be a prick or anything, but the girl computer geeks I know don't pick screenames like that... usually it's something to do with "Angel" or "Sweetie" or something along those lines... "Girl_Needs_Help" seems like a 12 year old guy who just wanted instant computer help and thought "more people will respond if they think it's a girl"

But, that's just my opinion. If a flame war starts because of this, mods, I'm sorry, and I will delete this message.

As for the GTA3 thingy... Are you running Windows XP? There was an NVidia/XP driver issue when the game came out, making text unreadable and option boxes invisible. Just wondering if you've already done that?

Hmmm, never thought of it like that. Looks like your're wrong though. Girl_needs_help, for not knowing a lot about computer you seem to have a pretty nice rig. Did you build it yourself?

Just a thought, but UT will always run a lot smoother than GTA3. UT is an older game that does not stress your video card near as much as GTA3. Also, like many others have stated, there have been problems with the game. My system (check the specs in my sig) can handle UT, but gets raped by GTA. You have a GF4Ti4200 so I think it should handle it fine, but if not you might wanna make sure you have all the visual turned down for best performance. As far as there being a manual, I would just check the readme.txt that came with the game. Usually there is some good info in there. I would still check around online for a manual though.

BTW, you are a girl and have a much better system than I do I feel jealous now. haha, jk seriously though if you really are a girl, it's nice to see some of them around. I didn't think any women posted on these boards. Anyways, good luck!!
