"Show desktop" locks computer..why??
After installing my Ti4200, hitting the 'show desktop' button (which I use all the time) causes my system to lock up for over a minute. I still have mouse control, hear system sounds, and I can alt-tab (but the window doesn't come up..the selection box moves around, though)...then it unfreezes after 1-2 minutes, and it's back to normal. Any ideas?

Do a defag to start. Try opening up the task manager and look at the processes, then hit show desktop and see what's consuming all the cpu. My guess is the explorer.exe is eating it up, why exactly could be a number of things, of which I am not qualify to say. Did you recently install something new before this emerged? Try isolating it down to the past few things you've changed about your system and go from there.
Or do a format if defrag doesn't work :/ shrugs.

After installing my Ti4200
I have 768mb RAM & a P4 @ 2.133Ghz..resources aren't a problem. Everything else works fine...it's just this button.

What happens when you hit the Windows key and the 'D' key (the shortcut for Show Desktop)?

Maybe you could try to get a new showdesktop.scf file from someone.

CadetLee,
New official Nvidia drivers came out today. They may be helpful to you.

Thanks, I'll give that a try..maybe it'll be a little faster also
It's working now, with a slight (less than one second) delay instead of 90-120 seconds...strange.
