Plz help me with OFFICE 2000 installtion...

hi im installin office 2000 on windows XP. the system has a high spec. now when its installin, an error comes up nearly half way through the installtion sayin...
" error reading from file: C:\windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx. Verfiy that the file exists and that you can access it"
Thats the error im geting. i went to the diredctory to check if the file was there and it was. than i got the same file of the net and put it that directory but still the error keeps comin on... whats the solution... i need to get my work done. plz help

Try to start one of the Office applications anyway. If it's a legit copy it may automatically write the proper info into the registry.
