    A7N8X Deluxe Bios Flash

Which version bios update do I need to use to unlock the multipliers on this board? It came with version 1002 but I noticed that there are updates for the a7n8x (did not say deluxe though) that say there is a version 2001A available.

Any links I could goto? And instructions on how to flash it would be helpful!!

You can flash it straight from windows using the ASUS update utility.

    1002A will unlock the multipliers.

Thanks guys! It's my neighbor's rig, and his mults are locked up tight. I noticed the download for 1002a, but it didn't specifically say it was for the Deluxe board. It WILL work, though, right?

    Brahma,

You said you can update from Windows, right? So I don't have to go through all this B.S. about making a bootable floppy and transferring the update utility and the new bios through dos? It describes this process in the manual, but the Live Bios Update will do it, too? Right?

Right. Just go to Asus_ Asus Update (providing you loaded it from the Asus CD) from the start menu, and it will give you a choice to flash straight from the internet, or from a file where you have decompressed the Bios. I personally prefer the latter because possible internet lag could cause problems. It's a totally painless procedure compared to the floppy method.

BTW: I have the 1002A bios on my deluxe.
