    Cpu heat?

Which chip is runs cooler a 2400px or a 2500xp. The 2500 has a lower chip speed but is the barton a cooler chip or not?

Suspect the Barton would as it has a slightly larger surface area. Would depend as well what the default voltages are- Know the XP2400 is 1.65V not sure what the Barton is.
However I think any difference would be minimal.

The Barton probably is, it seems as AMD's CPUs get more advanced, they get a lot cooler running. Like afore mentioned, any difference would be too small to worry about, If you're wondering about heat because of overclocking, the 2500+ would blow the 2400+ away for overclocking.

I would say the Barton would be a little cooler. AFAIK, there is no substantial changes in the core other then the additional cache. Unless there are some important changes, the lower clocked chip is usually cooler.

Barton likely needs a little more power to run it's FSB at a higher clock rate, but that is probably more then made up for by the large cache reducing the need to go off chip. The extra cache itself does not use much power.
