    Alaska has local sales taxes up to 7% depending upon where you are in Alaska.

    Only in parts of Alaska (Neither Anchorage nor Fairbanks levies a retail sales tax). and the max is 6% according to this website: http://www.move2alaska.com/taxes_in_alaska/default.asp

    Most that do have a sales tax are way below 6% too. List
