Hmm, I´m not sure which sound card to get for my new computer system in the near future. The Terratec 6-Fire or the M-audio Revolution 7.1? My highest priority is music. After that it is games and DVD´s.

While this is a pretty tempting card, the Terratec DMX6Fire 24/96 wins me over simply due to the breakout box. If only it weren't so damn expensive.

Yes, the breakout box is a plus for me too. I like to have easy access to the headphone out and the other speaker cables etc.

Do you believe that this card is better for music than the Revolution?

    Næhh.. en dansker.

Anyway, if I remember correctly from various reviews both the M-Audio and the Terratec were many miles ahead of the competition in the music department. As it stands I think it's more a personal preference thing, and the Terratec has the built-in phono pre-amp in the breakout box.
