Question about tv-computer computer-tv

What do i need to watch divx movies on my computer through my tv? What do i need to watch tv on my monitor and being able to record it?
Can i just use vidio card with tv out? Will it do the job? Can i just buy WinTv for 40$
Please reccomend something good!!!

A card with TV out will not help however TV in would do the trick. That leaves you with a radeon all in wonder (great quality but poor drivers) or an asus v7700 deluxe (good quality and good drivers.) If you don’t want to get a new graphics card you can get a pinnacle or Hauppauge TV card.

Look at the ATi TV Wonder Cards. They offer all the plugs of the All-In-Wonders but you can use them with your existing graphics card

before you go for the ATI's (IF you go for them i mean), check out Rage Underground.

they are probably the best ATI support site around, and check the forums (left tab, "discussion") for feedback on the radeons, rage128's, or what have you.

a word of warning, don't go for ATI rage128 cards of any kind! They have horrible 3d, and even the video capture mode can be skitzy.

i wouldnt buy anything voodoo now since the company is going away... also i understand their software is horrible for their tv cards.

How about Hauppauge WinTV dbx-TV Stereo and FM Radio
Its 99$!!!
I only have couple questions with that

i dunnno about the winhauppage but i've heard good things about the VoodooTV. but i agree, don't buy anything voodoo now (i heard NVIDIA's taken to issuing a recall of all previous 3dfx products for some reason. they probably figure people will call THEM now for tech support or something).
