    What OS will fit on this?

    Have an old Compaq laptop with a P120 CPU and 84MB ram, 1.2GB HD.
    Anyone any idea if WIN 2000 will fit on this?
    It had NT4 but my son wants to demo a project he did in ASP.NET and that requires win2K or WinXP pro. Don't think winxp pro will fit.
    Newest comp DFI nf2 ultra xp1500-m @223*10.5 or XP2500-M barton @230*10.5
    new comp- 8RDA+, xp2100 TbredB @202*11, 2*twinmos 3200 (non winbond), 9700 pro, Maxtor 9 plus 80gb &120GB, Hitachi CML174SWB 17" LCD
    Old comp KT7A Axia 1ghz @1.38GHZ,
    GF3 ti200, Compaq 910 19" Monitor

    It might, but it would be a really tight fit and you'd have virtually no room for any applications.

    Win2k's /win dir (alone) will eat about 700MB after drivers, service packs/updates, dx, ie, etc... are installed. You could trim that down some after the install, but you're still going to be limited to 500-600MB for everything else (including your swapfile.)

    Just an update.- My son seems to have managed to fit win2K and everything else he needed. I t does run a bit slow tho- suprise suprise.
