Empire Earth issues anyone?

I know Empire Earth is a bit old (got the Gold Edition when it was released in March 2003, well worth the money) but it seems to be having a bit of a problem with my Hercules Fortissimo III soundcard. I am constantly experiencing crashes and BSODs during gameplay with Empire Earth and the Fortissimo III . I had a SoundBlaster Live Value before and it work perfectly fine. Also, I am already using the latest 6.09 drivers for the Fortissimo III and my OS is Win2k SP3.

Just want to ask whether anyone has had problems/issues with Empire Earth before, especially related to soundcard problems.

I already have the latest 2.0 update for Empire Earth.

Oh ok, thanks for the heads up .

But I think I figured out the problem. It has to do with the DLS soundbanks that came with the Fortissimo III drivers. Apparently it doesn't play nice when using the drivers with the DLS soundbanks included. Just downloaded the drivers without the DLS soundbanks, have to try it later and see.

Maybe Wurm could move this thread over to GAMING HELP .
