Crash Test Dummy
One piece of advice: Instead of a hub, get a switch. Nowadays, the difference in price is pretty marginal, but the difference in performance can be really significant.
A switch is basically a hub with sort of a traffic cop built in. It looks at data passing through and directs it to only the intended recipient, leaving all the other ports available to "talk amongst themselves". A hub takes incoming data and rebroadcasts it to every single port, so every computer connected to the hub has to compete with every other computer for time to communicate on the network.
