    Anyone using Kingston HyperX 512mb PC3500 + 8RDA+?

I'm having issues with either this ram, this mobo, or both and I wanted to see if anybody else is using this exact same setup. I seen alot of people with HyperX PC3200 and PC3000 in both 256mb and 512mb flavor, but not alot of people with PC3500 and 512mb (two sticks to be exact). It seems everyone else with PC3200 and PC3000 and PC 3500 256mb sticks are running fine. How bout the PC3500 512mb sticks, any problems? I also have the LL version, which is now 2-3-3-7 (the old 512mb PC3500 was 2-4-4-8 when it first came out, they switched to the LL about a month and half ago).

See here for my issues with the ram.

    Thanks guys,
    Jay

Yes, many people are have problems, it's the RAM. Look at newegg.com at your mobo and you'll see...

I just read all the reviews at newegg. I already gathered the mobo is finicky about ram, but the only other person on newegg with Kingston PC3500 was at 185mhz (5mhz more than me, so I figure that's on par). That still doesn't tell me if it's the board or ram though because other people on newegg with lower rated Kingston are at 200mhz+!

Plus, on the Kingston HyperX PC3500 512mb reviews at newegg, this is what one person says:

"this ram is amazing. does ddr462 at cas2-3-3-7. stuff is bad on my epox 8rda+ and 2100+"

That't the exact same setup as mine. So again, I still don't know if I got a bad batch of ram or bad mobo. Damnit all to h3ll!!!!! This is so frustrating. When my Kingston RMA ram gets here, if I get the same results, I'm gonna have to assume it's the board and order another one from newegg (I already removed the heatsink so I can't RMA).

So is it the ram and the mobo , or just the ram? I was planning on getting 2 of those sticks. I run a P4PE mobo.

I'm not sure, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm leaning toward I might have a bad mobo at this point though, read my thread that I linked to in the first post.

I'm getting RMA'd Kingston Ram in a few days, if I get the exact same results, it's the board because the chances of me getting FOUR bum sticks of ram is unlikely. It still won't be for sure though cause I have no other mobo to test the ram in.

I already read it. What I'm wondering is if it is a problem with ll Kingston pc3500 512 sticks. I hope not, I don't want to pay all that extra money for the corsair, and HyperX performs better @ tight timmings as well.

Agreed. I just got my RMA confirmation from Kingston, hopefully they will ship by tommorrow and I should have them by thursday/friday. I'll be sure to update everybody.

I have the same mobo and one stick of hyperx pc3500. I'm at 175x13 right now with 1.7 vcore. I got it stable up to 190, but it took almost 2V and I don't have the cooling (yet) to run at that voltage. I couldn't get 200fsb, even with 2V. I'll try 2.1V when my heatsink gets in.

I don't think its necessarily a problem if your rig only does 180fsb. But let us know how the new stick does.

I've ran 2 sticks of 512MB PC3500 (the CAS2-4-4-8 models) in DC DDR mode on an Epox 8RDA+ and it works A-OK. I ran into no problems what so ever.

The mobo proc combo is fine alien. I might suggest different ram or hopefully this will be sorted out by the time you buy.
