    Lightbulb The New Cyrix

The new Cyrix seems to suck ***! If it can't compete with a Duron 600, its not worth much. To bad really, competion is always great for us buyers.

Yup, read it over at Anand's... however, since they are still using obsolete old under powered designs, I'm not surprised.
It seems it remains just AMD vs. Intel.

Competition seems to be dwindling everywhere, in video it's nvidia vs ati now that 3dfx is dead, it's come to a point where it's one or the other.

I doubt Cyrix will be gone anytime soon. I think VIA will start coming out with value motherboards with on-board CPU's that will be powered with a Cyrix III. VIA gotta do something with the investment in Cyrix.
