My estimate, if the fx5200 did 3200x2400 is 11fps in quake3! divide by 4 from 1600x1200. Meanwhile I estimate 29fps on the ti4200 at 280/520 in 3200x2400 which is pretty decent! My next plan is to see if the ti4200 can be modded and to see if I can run quadro fx2000 drivers on older cards, I mean the drivers are unified, if I can run the 45.45 drivers on a tnt.......
Ok, seeing that you haven´t figured this one out i will help you Thunderbird
1) You should have never ever bought the fx5200 cards without first trying to understad how does the past cards got the softmods to quadro, this was your biggest mistake, in the past nvidia used the exact same chip for all their cards, wether it was for gaming or for CAD/workstation, that is one big part of it all, if you really wanted to try a softmod to quadro in the future you should have tried to get either a vanilla 5800 or a 5800 ultra, because IMHO the *QuadroFX2000//1000* core is at least derivated from that one, if it is not exactly the same
2) You also forgot to look who did the original SoftQuadro and how difficult it is to really do so... Unwinder, the original russian programmer who makes softquadro+rivatuner+etc, hasn´t said a thing ´bout being able to mod the cards yet, so there again you missed a spot.
3) Finally you should never buy anything computer related without first doublechecking the specifications, i may be wrong, but i think that the incredible awfull speed of your card(5200) may have something to do with the fact that it has half the bandwidth (64bit DDR*400MHz is actually worst than 128bit SDR*200MHz...) sorry but that was expected.... no chip will work good with such a small bandwidth
I really hope that what i wrote can help you in the future, maybe just by your own experience you learned to be a little more patient...
Peace.
BTW if you haven´t found out yet, you won´t be able to use QuadroFX2000 drivers on your geforce4, they will work as Quadro980 Drivers(or was it 780?, the number corresponding to the GF4 based Quadro)
