    winXP patch 811493 issues
    Thanks Micheal and John,

Here is a little info for you on MS03-013Q811493) Buffer Overrun in Windows Kernel Message Handling Could Lead to Elevated Privileges Patch for Windows XP Home and Pro. I installed this patch and my 2.4 gig system with 512 megabyte of Ram it slowed the computer down to a 486DX2.Taking 15 minutes to logon and once you logon it would take anywhere from a 5 minute to 10 minutes delay to open a program with no hard drive activity right click menu would take about 3 minutes to open. Come to find out I am not alone in this as a lot of people are having the same problem as I have. The strange thing is that disabling your antivirus auto protect feature fixes the problem. I had to uninstall this update. As having my antivirus software disabled is not something I would like to do. Now everything is back to normal I did test disabling my antivirus software and sure enough programs open normally. People have reported that this happens with Norton, McAfee and EZtrust Antivirus. I sent a message to Microsoft through there Windows XP newsgroup and Microsoft doesn't know if this is the cause. But they are working on it here is a copy of the newsgroup message it is worth checking in to in any case

Thank you for the info. I'm not sure yet what is conflicting with 811493.We currently have a group of developers working on the problem. We'll get this resolved as soon as possible.Sorry for the inconvenience.
    Thanks,

Go to software and see if the winXP patch 811493 is installed if it is all you have to do is uninstall it and your windows will be running faster after the first reboot

Go into the Control Panel and then open "add or remove programs" and see if its listed. if it is then click on "remove"

And as far as the software goes, I'm not sure if there is such a thing.

    go to http://www.majorgeeks.com and check.

    Do us both a favor

First update your windows... use the Windows update button untill the only update left is 811493 then go to this webite

    http://www.moosoft.com

and download the cleaner and let it update itself and then run.

then download Adaware and let it do its stuff.

I bet your problem goes away by itself if you do that.
