best value carD?
well, i can currently afford to get a card in the $65 range.i was leaning towards the Gf4mx440's on newegg, but they have gotten awfully small!.lol..they seem to be even cheaper than the listed price!.oh well never mind...are the gf4mx440 better than the 8500LE?..who has better driver support?.thanks alot.the main games i will be playing is Counter strike, war craft III and splintercell type of games...i dont care about antialising FSAA and all that stuff..
thanks
(main reason im getting a card is cause my gts is crapping out on me)

The 8500LE is a really, really great card, esp. for older systems with not so fast cpu's. Get it, get the 64MB version cos it has the faster ram, and OC the ***** to 275/275 (retail speeds)

If either of those two cards were the same price as the ATI Radeon 8500LE then the 8500 would be the obvious choice.

In this moment I don't have my 8500LE (fathers computer still has it), but as you can see I have a slow cpu. and WC3 plays wonderfull at 1240*10XX with full details, except only on 12 player maps, it kinda lags

Actually, it can be done. I hit 9230 with My MX440 8X at 200fsb, but without oc-ing the actual card. Sad thing is, my new 9100 only hits 8000.

That was a single driver set that had that problem...so I'd say that's only partially true.

I got only 5800 marks stock, some guy couldnt break 7k marks on a highly OCed mx440 and a 3GHz p4, but sorry I dont believe you There is no way an mx440 can beat a ti500!!!!!!!!
It's a Mad Dog 8X MX440 128meg. It has 500mhz ddr, a 1.1billion texel fill rate, and 8.1gig/sec bandwidth. Stock it scores 6700. (3dmarks2001se) With my Xp2400 at 167 fsb it scored 7650, and when I finally got it stable at 200fsb in my Ak37, it scored 9230. The key is the 8X agp in a kt400 chipset. Because I can't lock my agp bus, the card was running at 80mhz istead of 66. I had to pump 1.85 volts to it to keep it from crashing, and I had to mod the cooling solution, but it did it. I don't have a host so I can't upload pics.
It was a trip! Car chase high detail was in the 200fps range, lobby was in the 150's, and that wierdo Dragothic thingy was in the 80's. Anyhow, point is, 9000+ CAN be done.

Yes I agree. Newegg have it for a great price as well. Some people got the LE version up to 275/275 (retail version speeds) and above.
