need the skinny on current chipsets...

gotta build a computer for a friend, but i quit paying attention to the chipsets right when the kt400s where coming out. i remember they had some bugs and that's why i went with an epox board with a kt333 chipset.

are the kt400s doing fine now? are they the best boards out? i was thinking of going with epox again since i'm really impressed with my 8k5a2+. should i go with the 8k9a2 or 8rda?
also, what's the difference between the 8k9a1 and 8k9a2? the only thing i could tell was the integrated audio. is that it?

thanks in advance for any help

    Recenlty built:
    8RDA+ rev1.1, latest bios update,XP2400+,2x512 paired XMS3200. A joy to the behold.
Thats the one with the Vantec Aeroflow

Went over the top a little for the ram but that stuff will last awhile. Took it straight up to 5-2-2-2 at 200Mhz. The board hasnt flinched. Just needed to get some cheap CP2100 to boot it and raise the Vdimm for the XMS3200. He wont OC for awhile but i dont think i need to mention its OC capability around here

The lastet bios features "autodetect 200MHz FSB" so you know this things going the distance.

I think the board is very good value.
    Q6600 (GO), Zalman CNPS 9700, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, 4G Kingston 6400 C5, Leadtek PX 8800 GT ZL (650/1800)
