not a big fan of CMD
Hi everyone
Not really a big fan of the CMD.exe program, it really sucks. SO.
Do you know any good shell batch program that is more like the linux shell, 4 usage in win XP? I really need a good program that can do a little bit more then just copy files.
thanks

I don't think CMD sucks. It seems to serve it's purpose don't you think? If you need more features that's understandable, but I don't see why that means CMD sucks.

You'll still use the CMD shell, but there are Unix like command line utilities (.exe files) available that run within the CMD shell. I've seen grep and various stream editors at one place or another. I don't use them anymore so I can't give you a link. Just search for Unix utilities that run under DOS or Windows. They are usually bundled.
