    A7N8X BIOS Flash

I currently have the 1002a Award BIOS (PCB 1.04), but have downloaded the 1003 and 1004 versions. The flash utility requires you to copy the BIOS file to Floppy Disk and press Alt-F2 on Boot then type in the file name, and it flashes it. The File extension for the 1002a is .AWD , but the new ones I have downloaded from the ASUS site are .BIN, will it still flash from these?

I think .awd stands for Award BIOS, it could be the .exe file but that is integrated on the Mobo, so i don't know for sure but i think you need the .bin file.

Maybe you overlooked it or did not unpack the file correctly.

I'm sure they unpacked OK, i just unzipped them, simple as. The flash utility on the mainboard just asks for you to enter the file name of the downloaded BIOS, so i assume that if i type XXXXXXXXX.BIN it should work? anyone think otherwise?

it could be called 'asdf.ghj' and as long as the data istself is the correct format it would work. I flashed to the 1004 the other day and it worked fine as kind
