How well does a blowhole work?

I'm standing over my shiney new case with a drill and a hole cutter about to turn it into Moby ****. I need someone to talk me out of it-or into it-before I start the mutilation. If I go to all this fuss will the temp. change be fairly dramatic? ..or will I get a 1c drop and another fan to listen to?
    Much oblidged...

Yes, the blowhole is probably the single most effective case fan. If you're very worried about noise (like I am), just disconnect one of your other exhaust fans.

Anything's Hot Swappable if you're fast enough.

Depends on what sort of cooling you already have in place. If you only have 1 rear exhaust, the blow hole will give you MUCH better temps. Also, get rid of intake fans and instead just have a big intake hole. Intake fans do nothing but make noise.

A very debateable topic. Why is that when my intakes are shut off that my temps magically rise? . Not to mention the extra dust.

The blowhole should help a lot since hot air rises.

Hehehe..just noticed the filter. Guess I should have typed "Moby Richard"? Naa, Melville would roll over in his grave.

Thanks for the response guys! You talked me into it. Oh, well almost..what are the odds of peril like spilled sodas or objects falling into it? I ask because a lot of times I don't think ahead when I think something is a great idea. Case in point: I bought a toolbox with plastic compartments on the lid, which seemed very handy, except that when you open it there's always one compartment with the lid not shut well and small parts go flying everywhere.

How often do you spill soda on your case anyway? I think you should think about where you put your drinks not whether a blowhole will be a problem!

Make sure you get a fan grill for it to stop anything falling into the fan blades and damaging them, won't help against liquid but then you really shouldn't be throwing water over your case should you.
