LAN setup
Hello
I have three computers that I want to connect together, through gigabit LAN. All computers have the Gb network-cards installed. But my question is this what do I need more then this to get them connected? The connection will not be used 4 internet or stuff like that.
thanks

You need a gigabit switch.
Code:

| GB SWITCH |------------> PC 2
|____________|------------> PC 3

Cat-6.

Crash Test Dummy
Cat 5 or 5e would work, too, but 6 would be preferable.

what's the difference?

They differ in the amount of shielding and specifications about how to lay it, Cat6 is "better" but also much more expensive. Cat5e would probably do the job as well, for less money.

The 5e/6 grade cables that you would want are called "Patch" cables. You will also see "Cross-Over" cables, but those are used for linking 2 computers together directly.
