True, but google does loose info over time. The links go bad or are deleted as no longer good from their data base. I have seen this just based on looking at old links for handles that were used.

Im wondering if I should get a 2D or 3D Videocard. I have a
Pentium 166 w/ 64 MB of EDO ram in a intel marl motherboard. I was
always satisfied with Diamond MultiMedia. So I was either going to get a Dimond 3D w/ 2MB EDO(Diamond 3D 2000) or a Diamond Stelth 64 w/ 2MB of Vram (Diamond Stealth 64 3200). I will be manily using it from 3D games like quake,Duke Nukeem 3D and what ever will come out in the
future. I will also be using it for Video playback. I want to get a GOOD resolution at Full screen. and a GOOD frame rate. How will the 3D card perform in a 2D enviroment. and a 2D card in a 3D enviroment. I want the CPU clock to be keeped down to a minimum and the card to do the work. In 2D and 3D. Well I believe that is all I need to know. :P

That is just the data. The log files are typically archived to tape that is good for at least 30 years - decades longer if archived to optical media as many sites do.

The question is do ISPs keep their log files that long? Heck as of late many ISPs have been going belly up so I think their logs are toast. Having a IP address on someone is pretty much worthless if the ISP has deleted the logs or just doesn't store them long enough. Or they are now defunct.

If I am not mistaken.. I believe an ISP needs to keep there logs for a few years according to federal...

A few years ago a public Linux server I manage, was attacking the white house (Hacked user account!!!) My ISP was fax and send a formal letter requesting access to all/any logs from the server.. And if it was not presented... Legal action will be taken...

So I am not sure what kind of federal laws affect servers based in the USA.
