Black & White and WinXP...

Has anyone figured out how to make this game run in WinXP? I launch the game executable, and it shows me the splash screen, then kicks me back to the desktop.

Game ran like crap on my Voodoo3 when I first got it, so the other day I thought I'd dust it off and try it on some modern hardware. What a bummer that I've had this same for so long and never even really played it.

I've tried patching the game to no avail. I've also tried running it in compatibility mode. No dice.

Checked the EA support site, and as of 2001, they were trying to work out issues with Win2000 and XP. Guess they tried real hard.

If any of you have had luck, please tell me what you did.

Ah well, I worked it out, anyway.

Not that I did anything different. I just tried installing and patching a third time and... it worked. LOL.

Mods, feel free to lock the thread if its out of place. Question seemed pretty general to me.
