All it is a 70mm TMD (Tip Magnetic Driving) fan and can be found here. Don't see any in black though.

I wish they made those in 80mm's and with some more cfm rating. I would love to get one with the SLK-800 I'm going to order from svc soon...

You think one of those will do ok though?

I think thats the Vantec Aeroflow you're reffering to.

The Coolermaster Aero7 is the new scroll fan/HS combo. The fan itself is the Aerofan.
You should be able to buy it on its own from http://www.1coolpc.com/ I saw it there a few weeks ago for $10+ S&H

Great choice BTW. Ive been a long time advocate for scroll CPU fans and I think this one is a step in the right direction.

Think the Aero7 will fit on an SLK-800?

    It was.
What are so great about these anyways? Low noise? No more dead spot?

Of course it will...with some modding!

Extremly low noise, I think it spins at around 1700rpm, but it has no dead spot what-so-ever and it puts out 27cfm. I think I'm gonna try one out when I order my SLK-800. It's probably comparable to a 35-40 cfm because of the lack of dead spot.

I dont think its all that silent at full speed but it has other benefits.

Scroll fans are much more efficient at pushing air into a restriction than sucking it from one while axial fan are the opposite.

When fan CFM spec is measured its done without any restriction.
The scroll fan offers more even air flow and it also doesnt take near as big a loss when you put a HS in front of it.
The Aerofan wont lose much of that 27cfm while a 32cfm axial will lose a lot. Especially on a large fine skive HS like an SLK
The Aerofan will also keep a much more linear cfm:rpm ratio.

The aerofan will still have a tendancy to blow more air over one side of the HS. Air will be concentrated in a line across the trailing edge of the housing.
The only plausible solution to that would be put a length of duct between the fan and HS in which the pressure could equalize.
An old 80mm fan housing with the guts cut out should do as long as your cooler mount can handle the stress.
Try just pluging it in and feeling where the air is most concentrated.

I'd like to see the next ATX standard include mounting brackets on the bottom of PSU's or something to that end so we could hang a huge scroll fan with rubber mounts and duct it with flexible duct into the HS so i could finally have a cool and queit PC

    I wish SVC had these

I'm pretty much sold at getting one of these when I order my SLK-800. I'm sure you guys would be interested on what effects it has on an axial fan. I can throw one on just for testing purposes.

Don't get the one from newegg, it's only rated at 10.2 cfm. Coolermaster should be coming out with a vaariable speed fan that I believe will be rated as high as 30cfm, just like the whole bundle you can buy for 45 bucks. IMO, wait til the variable speed fan is sold individually.

I'll get it as long as it's the variable speed version. Those are the good ones
