watercooling bandwagon
Well, I have always been a person not to change my ways, but lately I am really wanting some peace and quiet (its not too lound, only 2 tornados and a few other fans). I am putting together a new case this summer and I think I am going to want to do something a little more interesting (and quiet) this time. I have been saving up so all I really need to know is what are all the parts I need, and who sells the highest quality of these parts. I will be usign a lian-li pc70 or larger, so size isnt much of a problem.

AMD or P4?
How much money are you willing to spend?
Dtekcustoms, cooltechnica, and dangerden are popular wc'ing websites.
I've got to head off to work but if others haven't responsed I'll add alot more later.

No real budget, I would say around $300, unless you all can convience me to spend more

Here is what its looking like so far:
Eheim 1048 Water Pump
DangerDen Black Ice Extreme II Radiator
Swiftech MCW5000
What else am I going to need, or can anyone recomend something better/more cost effiecent thatn what I listed? I see that a resivior is optional. I assume a resivior is to keep from looping the same water through the system to cool it down a little? Thnaks for the help

When you are designing your system, figure out a nice isolated place to put your pump. Often this is pretty ghetto or just involves some straps holding the pump to some foam. The pumps vibrate like mad and lightweight aluminum cases make a wonderfully loud resonance if you can't isolate the pump perfectly. Once you get it isolated nicely, it will be very quiet. The loudest part will easily be your PSU. I'm currently in search of a quiet enough PSU for a powerful system that isn't loud. I'll let you know when I figure it out
(trying a Fortron 120mm fan model this week to replace my "super quiet" Nexus).

This is what I recommend:
CPU Block - TC-4 Rev 2 or Maze 4
Heatercore - Dtek Procore w/shroud kit. Or make your own shrouds. You could always order a heatercore from your local autoparts store and save some cash.
Fan - Some mid level CFM 120mm
Pump - Via Aqua 1300
Tubing - Clear Flex 60 "1/2"
Res - Bay Res, Criticool Waterplant res, Dangerden clear res, or use a T-line.
Water Wetter or Zerex Super Coolant
Metal screw drive clamps
